Breckenridge is absolutely beautiful. We are staying at the which is a hostel.it has a sort of log cabin look to it. I have found myself on a couple of occasions referring to it as home.

They serve draft beer in the lobby (not to us obviously)

I currently writing this post sitting in the couch in front of the the window.
This is Laura she was our room mate for our first night at the Bivouac. she was learning to play the mandolin when i rudely interrupted with my pictures.
This is Nelson. He is a French-Canadian math teacher who came to Colorado in search of adventure. He looked at the picture in my camera and refused to let me take another one he said he liked this one. we spent a good two hours playing Cards Against Humanity with him in the lobby.
This is the view from the back patio.
And here is what our room looks like. there are six beds in this room. our first night we had Lauraand Jasper staying with us here is a link to their blog. the next night we had the room to ourselves. and tonight we are sharing a room with two people who were hiking the Colorado trail. I have yet to get their names because they came bursting in the room in survival mode. They seem nice from the short conversations I've had with them.

Boulder Vail and Beyond

We arrived at my cousins house in Boulder Colorado. The area is absolutely gorgeous. from just about anywhere in Boulder you can see the Mountains. My cousins house is  beautiful as well. the entire house forms a semi-circle with all of the rooms connected by a curving hallway. Hayden and I where lucky to spend the fourth of July with my cousins and their neighbors.
My cousin Tamara got us all tickets to Banjo Billy's bus tours. They took an old school bus and added a roof and replaced the seats with couches and chairs.

our tour guide happened to be blind but lucky for us we had a separate driver. After our stay in Boulder my cousins Chris and Tamara treated us to a stay in Vail Colorado.

Here is Hayden practicing blue steel.
We took a three mile hike on Vail mountain.

and on our last day in Vail my cousin Gia took a ride on a pony. after Vail we headed of to Breckenridge.

Night one and morning two

At night the Buffalo Inn had a nostalgic vibe. During my short walk around the parking lot I felt as if I had been taken into a movie (hopefully not Psycho).

After checkout (which consisted of placing your room key in front of the sign on the counter that said leave keys here and having an Indian man yell thank you from the back room) we went to Palace Coffee in Canyon.

Palace coffee is one of the few places left that sells actual coffee not dessert in a cup (looking at you Starbucks).
When ever you order a cappuccino the barista politely explains that it is served in a smaller
porcelain cup not the large paper cups you are used to if you haven't been to a more traditional coffee shop.
When you order the "brew bar" menu item the barista makes your coffee in a chemex which is a pour over brewing method. the barista talked us through each step of making pour over coffee and the end result was one of the best cups of coffee I've had.
If you ever find yourself in Canyon Texas or downtown Amarillo stop by Palace coffee it's definitely worth your time.

Day one

Today Hayden and I took our first step on our way to Colorado! after leaving Kerrville at ten o'clock we drove until two in the afternoon when we had a roadside picnic. the previous night Hayden baked home made bread. we had sandwiches, dates, applesauce, and vegetable chips.

After lunch we made our way to Canyon Texas where we will be staying the night at the Buffalo Inn. After Hayden finishes his warm ups we will play a couple of songs then go to bed.
